Thank you to each child that took the effort and entered their designs, these will be on display around the school during the summer term. The winning entries, chosen by the School Council members are below and will be turned in to posters and displayed around the town to promote the Summer Fete. The winners will all receive a £5 ‘The Works’ voucher.
The children had a fabulous time leaping, rolling, and almost flying, on the inflatable obstacle course which the ‘Friends of Fakenham Junior School’ kindly arranged for the children. It was so much fun, so much so, even some of the teachers braved the action and took a leap of faith! The children were sponsored and became super heroes to take on the challenge. The parents and carers were unbelievably friendly and supportive throughout the morning. Thanks to all of them, we’re lucky to have you working with us supporting the school!
The children of Fakenham Junior School had an incredible treat on the 21st May. We were visited by Jack Trelawny, author of the ‘Kernowland’ series of books. He gave an assembly to the whole school, detailing both his love of reading and his inspiration for becoming a published author. The assembly was a huge amount of fun, full of great ideas and images for the children to use in their own stories and story plans. Thank you for visiting us Jack!
The garden is taking shape at Fakenham Junior School. New plants have been purchased and are currently being planted by our fabulous ‘Garden lunchtime club’ volunteers, who have spent their own time, under the guidance of Mrs. Steward, to make the area look fantastic. Not only do we have ‘Vanilla Ice’ planted, but there are also lots of other varieties of plants and vegetables. Watch this space for more information!
Fakenham Junior School celebrated Comic Relief by selling noses and cakes throughout Thursday and Friday. The children were also able to wear red clothing or non-uniform and donate £1 to an extremely worthy cause. How much have we raised I hear you ask? You’ll find out next week in the school’s newsletter.
Thank you to everybody who took part and an extra thank you to the parents and carers who kindly baked and donated the delicious cakes and treats.
